Our purpose at The Playground LC is to provide the highest quality of childcare possible, by creating a supportive and enriching environment based on the interest of the child. We believe that each child learns best through play, whether it be language, motor skills, or academics. Through self-guided curriculum, children are given a share in control of their learning.
By respecting each individual child and valuing their opinions as well as learning interest, we are in a position to magnify their learning. Our highly qualified staff become collaborators and co-learners, as we plan and fully engage in all activities based on the child’s interest. We value ourselves on respecting and appreciating each individual child and their uniqueness.

Anti-biased Curriculum
At The Playground LC we believe that creating an anti-bias curriculum and environment is of great importance. Anti-bias curriculum is an approach to early childhood education, that sets values in support of respecting and embracing differences and acting against bias. Each teacher takes the role of supporting children to feel strong and proud of who they are, while also showing appreciation for others. It means children will learn accurate, respectful language to describe who they and others are. Teachers will support children to develop and be comfortable within their home culture and within the school culture.This, of course, is a continuous work in progress by all staff.
Continuity of Care
We create a family like atmosphere with decreased stress by valuing and practicing continuity of care. This is accomplished by taking every measure possible to keep each child with their primary caregiver and group of classmates, at least throughout the first three years of age. Research shows that children have better educational and developmental outcomes when given continuous care due to the safe and stable environment provided by a strong bond of trust. In addition, continuity of care provides and supports positive child behaviors and secure attachments.
